How To Lose Weight: More Fiber-Filled Foods For Your Diet Plan

As we begin a healthy diet plan, we somehow instinctively know which foods are fatty, which have a lot of protein and which contain too much sugar.  But having a knack for knowing which foods are full of fiber just doesn’t seem to come as easily to us.  So look over this list of tasty high-fiber treats that can help you lose weight and add them to your healthy weight loss program.

Add Apricots to Your Diet Plan

Just three dried apricots give you about four to five grams of fiber which will help you feel full and satisfied as you work toward your weight loss goal.  Easily found in supermarkets and health food stores, a bag of dried apricots is a great item to keep in your pantry for those times when you need a quick snack.  Just be sure to get the ones that don’t have any added sugar.

Sunflower Seeds can Squelch Your Hunger

They’re small, but powerful.  An ounce of sunflower seeds has about four grams of fiber.  Also easily stored in your pantry, sunflower seeds are an affordable, tasty, fiber-filled snack that can help you lose weight by satisfying your between-meal hunger pangs.

Blueberries Add Antioxidants & Fiber to Your Weight Loss Plan

Blueberries have several exceptional nutritional elements, including powerful antioxidants, which are helpful for anyone who is consuming less food in order to lose weight.   Fiber is yet another reason to keep these juicy treats in your refrigerator. Just one hundred grams (or 3.5 ounces) of fresh blueberries provide about five grams of fiber.

Put Popcorn on Your List of Healthy Snacks

Good news: this popular snack can be a part of your healthy diet plan!  The key to keeping this food within the requirements of your healthy weight loss program is to make it at home.  Stick to the air-popped kind, go easy on the salt and definitely avoid any butter or “butter flavored” options when you’re trying to lose weight (don’t cheat and add your own butter either).  Enjoy the popcorn and lose the fat!

Kiwi makes a Sweet, Diet-FriendlyTreat

This sweet, unusual fruit is yummy on its own or in a fruit salad.  One medium kiwi will give you four to five grams of fiber along with a ton of healthy vitamins to boost your diet.  Remember to cut off the skin first!

More Peas Please

Mom always said to eat them, and she was right!  To add five to six grams of fiber to your weight loss program, have one cup of cooked peas as your side vegetable with a meal.  Or use them in a nice spring salad or pasta dish. Peas also contain protein which helps promote satiety and weight loss.

Isn’t it nice to know you can enjoy a variety of delectable fiber-rich foods even when you’re trying to stick to a healthy weight loss program?  You can even combine some of them for a stronger fiber punch.  Put blueberries, sliced kiwi and sunflower seeds together with some nuts for a special fruit and fiber trail mix.  Fiber is a very important part of your healthy diet plan, so rejoice that you can mix and match and switch things up as you continue to lose weight.
